Charlotte Growth

From the early 1990's, our fair city has grown 46% and is home to more than its share of national builders, custom home builders and Charlotte builders who are niche specialists. There are plenty of nearly new homes and brand new homes available to choose from.

Like other cities, Charlotte properties range from swim and tennis neighborhoods with sidewalks and plenty of social activities, to uptown lofts and cool inner city diggs. The world is your oyster as we have it all!

Area Schools

The "education factor" is not only good for your children, but it also proves to be a money maker for your home equity, no matter the city!

Charlotte has the largest public school system in the state and the schools

20th-largest system in the nation. At last count, there were 161 elementary, middle and high schools in the city and a host of private schools, many of them secular and parochial. There are also many charter schools available.

As for higher education, there are many Charlotte colleges and universities available to choose from. UNCC is probably the most well known and is located in University City-NE Charlotte. We also have the largest community college in the Carolinas-Central Piedmont Community College. It has ranked consistently within the top five community colleges in the nation year after year.

A Central Location

Located in the Piedmont region of the Carolina's, Charlotte is just two hours east of the Appalachian Mountains and three hours west of the Atlantic Ocean.

This means you can visit Charleston or Myrtle Beach in just a little over three hours!

You can also visit the mountains for trout fishing or skiing in less than two hours!

Charlotte's central location offers incredible travel opportunities by air. One can fly to the Midwest, NE, SE in less than 2.5 hours, making travel a breeze! New York City is 631 miles to the northeast and Atlanta is 256 miles to the southwest.

Sports, Recreation and Theatre

A very popular recreation in the Carolinas is golf, and there are many courses and clubs in the city.

Our residents support seven professional sports teams, including the NFL's Carolina Panthers and the NBA's Bobcats. Home to NASCAR, Knights Baseball, Checkers Hockey and the Wachovia Open.

There are also various sites of interest including theatres, cultural centers, botanical gardens, and historical areas that all contribute to the local culture. The Belk Performing Arts Center is host to the Broadway Lights Series, the Symphony and Opera Carolina. Additionally, there are a variety of nightclubs with different atmospheres in the uptown district.
