The Western End of Union County borders the  I-485 outerbelt of Charlotte. I-485 has exits that will drop you off close to all of the small Union County towns that border Charlotte. Union County does have bragging rights for its very own Queens Cup Steeplechase which takes place in April-a fairly large event...wear your best hat! Hidden away in Waxhaw, you'll find Cane Creek Public Park. It offers classic  lake activities from swimming, paddleboating, volleyball and the works.
